About the event

The visit began with an introductory session by the PDEU IIC team, aimed at giving students a practical understanding of entrepreneurship and how startups actually function. The team shared insights about the vision of the incubation centre, the types of startups it supports, and the resources available to early stage founders. What made the session especially valuable was how it connected classroom concepts like business models, market validation, funding, and operations with real world applications. Students were also introduced to the role of mentorship, workshops, and continuous guidance in helping startups grow in a structured and sustainable way.

To make the experience more interactive, two startups, Stembotix and INav Labs, conducted a pitching exercise where students were given products and asked to present them to the audience. This activity gave students a hands-on experience of pitching ideas, and the winners were awarded small prizes, making it both engaging and competitive. The session was followed by a Q&A round where students discussed startup challenges and support systems at different stages. The visit concluded with a tour of the IIC facilities, including co working spaces, meeting rooms, and innovation labs, giving students a clear sense of the collaborative and supportive environment provided to young entrepreneurs.

The visit to PDEU IIC turned out to be meaningful for the MIT-WPU students, as it gave them a chance to see how the startup ecosystem actually works in practice. From interacting with professionals to understanding the support systems available for upcoming startups, the entire experience felt very real and relatable. The pitching session and the tour of the facilities left a strong impression, making students feel more inspired and open towards exploring entrepreneurship themselves. Overall, the visit helped them see more clearly how places like PDEU IIC actually back new ideas and support people trying to build something of their own.
