Breach - Fintech Hackathon by Anirveda

Day 1: Kickoff & Problem Allocation

The event began with a smooth registration and accommodation process, ensuring participants were comfortably settled. This was followed by breakfast and an inaugural session, where the Director General of PDEU and other dignitaries addressed the participants, emphasizing innovation and problem-solving. Teams were then assigned problem statements and divided between the BLT and IIC Centre to begin their work in a focused environment. In the evening, an interactive event, Math-o-poly, was conducted in collaboration with the Society of Mathematics, promoting analytical thinking in a fun format. The day concluded with the first mentor interaction, guiding teams in refining their ideas.

Day 2: Development & Evaluation

The second day of the FinTech Hackathon began with a smooth and organized registration process, ensuring all participants were accounted for and ready for the day’s activities. This was followed by breakfast, which provided an opportunity for teams to relax, network, and prepare for the intensive sessions ahead.

At 10:00 AM, participants were allocated classrooms based on five distinct problem statements, enabling focused work and structured mentoring. Throughout the day, teams actively engaged in brainstorming, coding, and refining their solutions in a highly collaborative environment. Volunteers ensured seamless coordination and provided continuous support.

Around 4:00 PM, the evaluation phase began, where mentors reviewed each team’s progress and provided constructive feedback to guide further development. The day concluded by 6:00 PM with organized dispersal, marking significant progress as teams moved closer to their final solutions.

Day 3: Final Presentations & Closing

The day began with participant reporting and breakfast, leading into final presentations and judging. Teams delivered 10-minute pitches followed by Q&A sessions with industry experts, showcasing their solutions and defending their ideas. After lunch, insightful speaker sessions by Mr.Priyank Shah and Mr.Anand Pandya provided industry perspectives on technology and innovation.

The evening featured a cultural performance, Qawwali Rock by Offbeat, creating a lively atmosphere. The event concluded with result announcements, prize distribution, and a closing ceremony, celebrating the participants’ efforts and the successful completion of the hackathon.

Key Metrics Used to Measure Success

The success of Economania 2026 was evaluated through several key performance indicators:

1. Participation & Reach: Over 700+ registrations were received from 60+ universities, forming 200+ teams competing in the hackathon.

2. Competition Progression: A rigorous evaluation process shortlisted the top 50 teams for the final round, representing a 25% selection rate.

3. Competition Outcomes: 15 champion teams emerged across different tracks after the final round of presentations and judging.

4. Participant Experience: Participants rated their experience 4.32 out of 5, reflecting strong satisfaction with event organization, mentorship, and competition quality.

5. Learning Impact: 97% of participants reported meaningful learning outcomes from the event.

6. Participant Retention: 94% of participants expressed interest in returning for the next edition.

7. Industry Engagement & Opportunities: The event involved 30+ judges and 7 mentors, and provided a ₹2 lakh prize pool and industry engagement.

8. Organizational Capacity: The event was executed by a dedicated team of 100 organizers,ensuring smooth operations across all three days.

A significant contribution was made by PDEU IIC, which played a key role in supporting the event through mentorship, infrastructure, and facilitating industry and startup connections. Their involvement helped enhance the overall experience by providing practical insights and strengthening the innovation ecosystem. The guidance of mentors and the rigorous evaluation by judges ensured quality outcomes and valuable learning experiences. Support from sponsors and industry partners further strengthened the event, highlighting the importance of collaboration between academia and industry. Economania 2026 concluded on a highly successful note, bringing together innovation, collaboration, and impactful learning over three dynamic days. The event reflected the collective efforts of participants, mentors, judges, organizers, and institutional support from PDEU and OSAIL. Participants showcased exceptional creativity, resilience, and problem-solving abilities, transforming ideas into meaningful solutions over the 52-hour hackathon.
